The 2011 NASCAR Kobalt Tools 400 Lineup for Las Vegas Motor Speedway
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series continues its west coast run with the Kobalt Tools 400 from Las Vegas Motor Speedway this Sunday, March 6. Qualifying went back and forth as several cars held the top spot including Richard Petty Motor Sports driver Marcos Ambrose who is out to prove he can be as competitive on an oval as he is on a road course circuit.
Only a few cars were standing between Ambrose and a pole start after he blistered the field and took the provisional pole by a full tenth of a second. Carl Edwards came close, but couldn't get the job done, missing the mark Ambrose set by 1/100th of a second. He showed his admiration for Ambrose by playfully bumping the driver from down under with the front of his Ford as Ambrose gave a garage interview.
