Slurred Words On Motorsports - by RC Shivers

I Eat, Sleep and Breathe NASCAR!! I have raced in several divisions on the local level and been a crew member for a NASCAR Modified Tour competitor. My involvement in the sport dates back to the beginning of NASCAR's modern era. I give you an experienced inside look at the sport including news directly from Charlotte, the heart of NASCAR competition.

So grab a cold drink, set up your chair, turn on the tube, put on your scanner head phones and get ready for SLURRED WORDS ON MOTORSPORTS.

SLURRED WORDS ON MOTORSPORTS IS ALL YOUR NASCAR NEWS IN ONE PLACE!!!!!

NASCAR considers multiple changes, but are they too much?

NASCAR may have to change with the times to remain relevant as one of the premier sports in the country, but can too much change and masking the identity of the sport in a bland dilution of new wave media, points changes, car changes, qualifying changes and the old "have at it, boys" attitude lose more fans than it gains?

Some of the changes are great and are long overdue. When Robin Pemberton told the drivers "have at it, boys" last season, that statement returned some of the drama to the races that had disappeared in recent years when the NASCAR Gestapo stepped in to hand out penalties. Was the new attitude taken too far? Maybe, but if you ask the drivers now, they may say it's just fine. I think with a little common sense applied the "have at it, boys" attitude makes NASCAR what it is.

Yeah, I love how NASCAR is being proactive in this situation. My hats off to the guys that want to make it a better sport!

I think tne new scoring system will pay dividends in the long run, as people can easily figue out as to if their driver has a chance to come back or not -- instead of trying to figure in bonuses for laps led or any of a hundred other ways to get points. Fans, old and new, like to be able to figure out who's winning and by how much.
