Iron Man
I was always a bit unsure about Iron Man. A man in an iron suit? He’s just a robot basically, but not as unkillable. Well, this movie certainly changed all that! From it’s heavy (in a good way, I suppose ‘rich’ would be a better word, or ‘detailed’) character development to it’s kind of amazing (if a little stereotyped on the ‘Middle Eastern’ front) plot and hero creation in Iron Man, it was a pleasure from start to finish!
I particularly enjoyed Gwyneth’s stilted performance as Pepper Potts, she looked pretty good in this role, I’m not usually a fan, but here, she was damn fine! I also liked Iron Man’s first incarnation in the cave/tent/valley. I cried a little here. It was a very emotional movie! But the best part, the thing that sent me off into almost uncontrollable giggles was when Tony took the second suit out for a test run and before taking off, put his feet together and arms down with hands out from the body like a ballerina. It was the least manly thing in the most manly movie I have ever seen. I loved it and every moment he did that on screen.
I also loved him sucking in his gut and how fat Cuba Gooding Jr (was that even him?) has become. I did not love Jeff Bridges. I hated him with a passion. How dare he want to kill Pepper!?
I feel that the Avengers movie will be awesome, especially if it includes anyone who even remotely resembles the comic book Thor (Ultimate Thor) who I am deeply, passionately in love with.
