Dale Earnhardt Sr. Ten Years After
It took Dale Earnhardt Sr. 20 starts in the famed Daytona 500 to finally reach the win that would be regarded as one of the most memorable wins in NASCAR Sprint Cup history. 2011 will mark the tenth anniversary of the death of 'The Intimidator' in the same NASCAR flagship race just three years later.
Much has changed in the ten years since Earnhardt lost his life pushing his own drivers to the front of the field while holding off a charging Sterlin Marlin. Michael Waltrip won that race while Dale Earnhardt Jr. ran a close second, but all who watched felt that eerie feeling shoot down their spine when the black #3 plowed the wall in turn four head on.
