This blog has gone through some changes over the years, but since I have taken it over I have tried to keep you informed in the subjects that interest me and you both. Now that I have completed a final edit on MADDIE & MOOK AND THE MESSAGE IN THE BOTTLE, I invite you on the journey to the finale which will hopefully be a book contract and a published childrens book. I welcome any and all constructive comments, and look forward to taking you on this journey with me.

Justin Bieber: King of Suck?

A Satirical Look at the Current King of Suck

What happens when a boy with a guitar finds a video camera and the password to his dad's computer. Justin Bieber! That's what! Since voices and sounds were recorded, some brilliant mind was there to exploit that voice. Bell did it with the telephone, and now everyone has a phone in their pocket. Since the inception of pop music so long ago, producers and investors have jumped at the chance to milk a phenomenon for all it's worth and then drop it in the gutter and let it rot away

Book Review: Wired Kingdom, An Aquatic Thriller

The literary world is as driven by pop culture as much as television, radio and movies. Fantasy and sci-fi have been dominated by wizards, witches, werewolves and vampires for quite a while. Since the release of Dan Brown's "The DaVinci Code", thrillers have centered around the conspiracy theories of The Templar Knights and The Freemasons. Each writer has their own take on each conspiracy and tries their best to lead us into that world, but all still leave me craving something more original that I had not heard or thought of before.

Rick Chesler's new novel, "Wired Kingdom", satisfies that craving for originality, when a murder at sea is caught on Camera, the hunt begins. "Wired Kingdom" combines high tech marine science with the enormous popularity of television reality shows

Predatory Publisher vs Virtuistic Vanity

Sitting on my ass for the last two and a half weeks has allowed me a lot of time to search the internet, and read. I have been unable to type, and writing is impossible. Kudos once more to my wife for helping me type this out. This article is brought to you by theo ne armed bandit, lol.

Anyway, in last few weeks I have come across a lot of self published books and a lot of publishers that cater to vanity or print on demand. The market has changed over the last ten years. Self publishing is not the bane of the writer's existence any longer and does not necessarily keep a writer from getting a deal with a real publisher

Something That Happened One Fourth Of July

It's been tough lately, so tough in fact that I am frustrated in my writing. I am not the type of writer who can dictate my words to someone else, but in this case I have to. As I speak, my wife is typing this up for me. I had shoulder surgery recently and it hurts a lot. In most positions I try to keep my arm it still aches or burns or feels like someone is slicing a knife up and down the flesh and bone of my arm. So I finally broke down and asked her to type this introduction for me so that I may at least try to get something posted.

It's another Independence Day for America. I am proud, there is no doubt. I wish I was able to put the pain meds away and enjoy the day, but that is not going to happen. For now they are necessary. Instead, I will share a little poem I wrote several years back that reminds me of some of the things I like to do on the Fourth Of July. I hope you enjoy it
