You've Written A Book And Nobody Knows...What Now?
When you're a writer, it seems that the only important thing is to write. While that may be true, just writing is not going to get you a publishing deal. After your write your "epic" or your books of poems, or the next great travel book and then start sending out your query letters....wasn't that a fun little addition....you may decide that you need a website so people (agents, publishers) can find you.
There are couple of ways to go on a website. You can pay for one. I pay about $90 a year for www.rcshivers.com, through Ipower. They are a great hosting site that offers me a lot of flexibility. If I decide to self publish, I can even initiate Paypal to sell my books.
